About

My name is Zebulon Turrentine, and I am a Peace Corps Volunteer in Accompong-Town, St. Elizabeth; Jamaica.

I am originally from a small town in Southern Middle Tennessee named Bell Buckle. Before I joined the Peace Corps I was a guitar teacher and guitar maker. Now – I am a neither. I am just kind of waiting and letting time and experience have its fun with me.

Read your August 8 blog. Fascinated about your references to Lendle Tucker. Did Melissa ever tell you anything about his background? It seems a wonder he was not a mass murderer. she was quite fond of the child due to the work she put in to making him get over his violence.

Marcus Aurelius (~AD 200) suggested that those with whom we are antagonistic are that way because they do not know the difference between good and evil (Meditations).

Jesus suggested that we should be willing to die for our worst enemy. How hard is life.

I love your writing. Where did you learn to do that?

I admire your writing, and the work you do. When I found this blog last night I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I’ll certainly be checking in often to see if you’ve updated.

    Zebulon,
I just read many of your blog entries. You had me laughing outloud mostly because your descriptions of Jamaican people and situations with them are so true to the nature of that culture. Very engaging! I hope that we can “link up” while I am in Jamaica. If you think of it, bring me a Trail of the Maroons t-shirt size M and I’ll pay you for it when I see you. Keep up the solid work that you are doing. I can’t wait to meet you. We share a common intrest in providing people with an alternate experience of the true Jamaica. Keep up the writing as well. I see a book in your future!
